Her Story...
Born in Boston I spent the first few years of life in Hong Kong with my grandparents before starting my schooling years in Decatur, IL. Growing up there I struggled with being the eldest child of a first generation immigrant family, being the only non-white, non-black kid in the school, and trying to blend the small town American culture I was surrounded with and my parent's traditional Chinese culture. All those struggles during my teenage years led me to completely put my hope and life in God's hand. In the beginning I only knew God as this big, powerful being that somehow cares for me. As I read the Bible and got to know Jesus, I learned to trust Him with not only my soul and eternity, but also my daily life, plans, and future during my college years at Illinois Wesleyan University. My trust relationship has led me to adventures to Denmark, Dominican Republic, and meeting amazing people who love God and others more than themselves.
During one summer in college when I was eagerly asking God to bring me my soulmate, a wise friend told me to compile a list of qualities I would want in a husband based on things I liked and disliked about my friends, family, and people I already know.
Even with God by my side, I struggled with the dating scene when I moved up to Chicago for medical school
